Little Pooh Nursery Activities

Getting Started
- Greeting children by a special song.
- Making sure that the classroom is clean and healthy i.e. the sun gets into the room, all the desks are clean and well organized.
- Checking the children's nails and combing their hair etc.

Oral Activities
Aims:
- The children can name the colours
- The child is able to differentiate between colours.

Methods:
- The use of coloured cartoon papers (nacipian papers) that have lots of pictures with different colours.
Physical activities
Aims:
- This makes the child active.
- Physical activities improve the body and the muscles whether small or big muscles.
- It makes the children happier and more cheerful all day long.

Methods:
- Free walking.
- Free running.
- Imitating trains.
- Passing through hoops.
- Zigzag running.
- Jumping like rabbits.
- Swimming in small pool (in summer)
Drawing and colouring
Aims:
- The child uses his small muscles.
- He differentiates between colours.
- The child learns about the different relations between colours and the different objects that surrounds him.
- He compares between colours.
- To improve the child's artistic taste.

Methods:
Through leaving the child to colour pictures on his own i.e. without helping him in choosing colours or brushes.

Tools:
Colours, cartoon papers, glue and scissors.
Singing
Aims:
- To help the child learn new words
- To teach the child rhymes
- To help develop the child's musical appreciation

Methods:
- Teaching the children songs in arabic and english language
Story Telling
Aims:
- The child learns to listen carefully.
- He gets to know more about colours through the story.
- The story also makes him aware of some good values of our society.

Methods:
- Through a puppet show.
- Through a story with solid figures.
Out of the nursery activities
Almost once every month we have a field trip where we take the children under strict supervision to a park (eg. zoo, club, etc..) where they have a day out.
Parents are welcome to accompany their children during these trips.
Indoor special activities
Every two weeks we have a clown or magician come into the nursery for a nice entertaining show for the kids.

Also on the birthday of any of our children we have a nice birthday party for him to celebrate!
